Hey! I'm Shake Onigiri. I'm a Japanese-american musician just trying to practice my Japanese and also understand songs I like more than surface level listening, as I honestly tend to not listen to lyrics of songs very deeply (both in English and Japanese). 

I initially made this blog when I was in quarantine after catching covid in 2021. For some reason, I challenged myself to translate as many Shishamo songs as I could in those few days. Now it's my goal to translate every single one of their songs eventually! I don't want to only limit myself to Shishamo though, as I like a lot of j-indie bands that don't have any english translations online.

Though I have an intermediate understanding of Japanese, I am not a native speaker so not every translation will be perfect. I am trying my best, and I go back once in a while to make corrections or slight adjustments as my Japanese gets better.
